AJET, the new wholly-owned subsidiary of Turkish Airlines, has officially opened ticket sales.
The airline officially starts flying on March 31.
The airline, originally called AnadoluJet, was established in 2008 to improve air transport links for Anatolia – the Asian bulk of Turkey.
The former Turkish Airlines brand will operate under the ‘AJET Air Transportation Inc.’ name as a wholly-owned subsidiary.
The new airline will offer a more modern, comfortable, and accessible experience for its customers, with plans to become a leading low-cost airline on a global scale, further strengthening its competitive position in the market.
AJET will operate flights to a total of 93 destinations, including 41 domestic and 52 international, including a range of services from the UK.
With its fleet of 95 aircraft, AJET will fly to a total of 44 countries this summer, with a target of 200 aircraft within the next 10 years.
Even before its inaugural flight, AJET has already announced network expansion, adding routes between Istanbul and London Stansted Airport, Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla Airport, Ankara Esenboğa Airport, and Rome-Fiumicino Airport.
This sub-brand will expand Turkish Airlines’ expansive reach across the globe, adding more flights to the group’s existing 360 strong network.
