Iberia to Shed 3,800 Jobs

Iberia has announced that, as part of its restructuring plan, it will implement 3,800 job cuts. The Spanish carrier is now owned by IAG, as is British Airways. Unions have announced a series of five-day strikes.

The airline’s statement said: “This is part of Iberia’s transformation plan to introduce permanent structural changes across the airline to stem its losses, enabling it to grow profitably in the future.”

Unions in the airline have already announced a series of three five-day strikes, the first of which will take place from 18th – 22nd February 2013.
