Turkish Airlines Profits Soar as Passenger Demand Outstrips Pre-Covid Levels

Turkish Airlines has reported profits of $635m for the second quarter of the year, on the back of strong summer passenger demand.

The airline generated revenues of $5.1bn, for the period, representing a 13.5% year-on-year increase.

Passenger numbers surged by 28% in the first half compared to the same period on pre-Covid 2019.

With one of the youngest and most modern fleet of 419 aircraft, Turkish Airlines increased its fleet size by 10% compared to the same period of last year.

In the second quarter of 2023, the airline carried over 21 million passengers in total, with a domestic load factor of 81.5% and an international load factor of 81.8%.
