Celebrating World Tapas Day at Taste of Dublin

Although it rained cats and dogs at Taste of Dublin it certainly didn’t dampen the spirits of those who attended the annual food festival. Food and drink was flowing and everyone was in good form.

ITTN was privileged to be a guest joining in the celebrations on World Tapas Day courtesy of The Spanish Tourist Board and Tasting Spain to sample the delicious Tapas prepared and presented by renowned chefs from five regions in Spain: Lanzarote, Mallorca, Gran Canaria, Cambrils and Zaragoza.

Firstly, we had an introduction from Ruben López-Pulido, Director of the Spanish Tourism Office Dublin, explaining the relevance of Tapas in Spanish cuisine. Then each chef treated us to a live demonstration of their individual Tapas and we were invited to sample the fare.

Below are some of the Tapas that were offered:

Signature Dish -1 Chorizo Al Vino

Galician Chorizo Balls Roasted and Stewed in Rioja Wine (Sulphites)

Signature Dish – 2 Croquetas Variadas

Creamy White Sauce Breaded With Three Different Flavours 1. Salted Cod & Aioli (Gluten, Dairy, Fish) 2. Goat’s Cheese & Spinach with Piquillo Pepper Coulis (V Gluten, Dairy) 3. Iberian Ham (Gluten, Dairy, Sulphites)

Signature Dish – 3 Empanada De Pisto

Vegan Baked Pastry Stuffed With Fried Vegetable Hash (Gluten, Sulphites, Soya)
