Aer Lingus Regional has said it is confident its services will not be disrupted later this month despite its pilots voting in favour of industrial action.
Irish Air Line Pilots’ Association/Fórsa trade union-affiliated pilots working for Emerald Airlines – which operates Aer Lingus Regional – have voted to commence industrial action from Saturday June 24.
It will start with a rolling work to rule action – with pilots refusing to work on off-days, out of hours and doing no overtime.
IALPA/Fórsa said the industrial action is because of Emerald failed to engage the union over the forming of a collective labour agreement for the pilots.
It also warned that the industrial action may be escalated, but it said it remains open to negotiation with the airline.
Emerald Airlines said the move was unnecessary and said it was confident the industrial action will not disrupt Aer Lingus Regional services or passenger journeys.
