Carnival Cruise Line is adding new experiences to its already popular shore excursions and will be introducing their newest addition to the fleet, the Carnival Luminosa, to U.S. waters for the first time this season. The Carnival Miracle will start off the Alaska season on April 23, 2023, with a 14-day journey from Long Beach, California, and then move to its seasonal homeport of San Francisco, with 10-day cruises that include a visit to Prince Rupert, B.C., a new destination this season. Seattle, Washington, will see the first departure of the Carnival Spirit on May 2, 2023, followed by the Carnival Luminosa on May 4, 2023. The Port of Seattle will be the starting point for six, seven, and eight-day sailings that include popular ports such as Skagway, Juneau, and Ketchikan, as well as Victoria, B.C., and a cruise through Tracy Arm Fjord.
Prior to her arrival in Seattle, the Carnival Luminosa will offer a 23-day Carnival Journeys cruise from Brisbane, Australia, where she has been homeporting since joining the fleet in November 2022. The Carnival Luminosa offers unique features such as a Cloud 9 Spa spanning two decks with an expansive thermal area and a sky dome over the pool deck, allowing the area to be enjoyed regardless of the weather, similar to her sister ships Carnival Spirit and Carnival Miracle.

Carnival has received an exceptional response for the upcoming season and is currently offering sales for Alaskan sailings next year as well. In 2024, amidst two remarkable transpacific cruises that include visits to Japan and Hawaii, the Carnival Luminosa will once again join the Carnival Spirit to homeport in Seattle and operate seven, eight, and 14-day sailings. Meanwhile, the Carnival Miracle will make a comeback in San Francisco, offering 10 and 11-day cruises. In total, the three ships will provide 53 cruises throughout the 2024 season, making it Carnival’s largest-ever deployment in Alaska.
