Agents booking and confirming a 2011 or 2012 Royal Caribbean International cruise by next Friday, 26th August, will be in with a chance to win one of 20 places on a VIP fam trip to Dubai in from 1st – 6th December 2011. The booking must be made by automation tools and include pre-paid gratuities. Each booking counts as one entry, and every Dubai booking on Serenade of the Seas or Brilliance of the Seas counts as two entries.
All bookings made before 30th September 2011 on selected European and Dubai cruises for travel in 2011 and 2012 also receive an additional US$100 onboard spend for the guest.
The dedicated agent incentive is part of RCI’s new €1+ million autumn campaign, ‘Pack More into Your Holiday’, that will feature advertising across TV and radio, national newspapers, women’s magazines, online and trade, and will celebrate the wide range of activities and experiences available on a Royal Caribbean International cruise holiday.
As part of the campaign agents are receiving marketing materials including RCI-branded point-of-sale, bunting, badges, balloons, flyers and desk cards.
Royal Caribbean is also giving agents the opportunity to become an official Guinness World Record title-holder for the ‘Fastest Time to Pack a Suitecase.’ Jenny Rafter and Lorraine Quinn are calling into agents offices to challenge agents to participate and will select one winner from Northern Ireland and one from the Republic of Ireland to compete in the grand final on board ‘Independence of the Seas’ in Southampton on 28th September 2011.
It was an Irish travel industry version of ’Where’s Eddie?’ at the Thomas Cook Holidays cruise department on Thursday when Jenny and Lorraine challenged the TCH staff (and Irish Travel Trade News!) to ‘Pack More into Your Holiday’ by donning a straw hat, sunglasses, Captain America t-shirt, check shirt and colourful waist-tie – and seeing how fast they could pack the RCI suitcase. The eventual winner was Becci Franklin in an impressive 46.95 seconds.
