Concorde Travel in Ennis, Co Clare, is to close this weekend after some 25 years in business – but the doors will remain open until the end of August as clients are taken care of.
Michelle Considine told Irish Travel Trade News: “It is devastating, and it is hard to let go, but it is a business with a number of directors involved and the decision has been made to close down now and look after everyone, rather than have a decision made by someone else at a later date.
“Our licence does not expire until April 2012 and we could have probably kept going for a year or two, but the decision has been made now. Our closure means that there will be just two travel agencies in Ennis – Gail Travel and Tom Mannion Travel.
